working for an underfunded non-profit.

SUMMARY

A ground-breaking comedy series featuring visually impaired and low-vision actors . . .

DON’T LOOK NOW is a 30-minute sitcom filmed in documentary style.

Set in an underfunded Arizona school for the visually impaired, DON’T LOOK NOW explores the daily challenges of an eccentric group of teachers and staff who outwardly seem to share only one thing: their visual impairment.

At the heart of the show is CJ’s struggle to lead his eccentric “low vision family” of staff and students in an ever-changing technological world and help them all become the champions he knows they already are.

Each episode will tackle societal issues and demonstrate teachable moments to inform sighted viewers on the common misconceptions about the visually impaired community. Through Aanya’s journey with RP (retinitis pigmentosa), the audience will also experience what it is like to lose your vision.

DON’T LOOK NOW will employ a cinema verite style similar to The Office and Abbott Elementary, and push the edge of irreverent humour with a tone akin to Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Arrested Development.

Featuring a unique cast of characters, DON’T LOOK NOW dares to tackle social issues from a perspective that no other show has ever done. And does so with humor and heart.
